Introducing Pete Kilford, our new Wellness Editor

Pete Kilford spent 32 years in the thick of the City, thinking he had it all under control , career flying, life full throttle, the usual markers of success ticked off. Then one Sunday, his body called time. A sudden collapse, a hospital bed, and a blunt truth from the doctors: keep going like this, and you might not be around much longer.

That was the turning point. Pete took the hit and changed course. He swapped burnout for balance, traded spreadsheets for squats, and began to rebuild his life from the ground up. Now 59 years old, a proud grandad, and a certified holistic health coach, he’s dedicated to helping other men do the same , especially those who’ve spent years grinding in high-pressure jobs, neglecting their health until something gives

Pete’s philosophy is simple: health isn’t about quick fixes, it’s about creating a foundation that lasts. He works with men to build habits that stick , the small, consistent actions that compound into genuine change. Nutrition is central to his approach, but never in the joyless, restrictive way of fad diets. Instead, it’s about learning how to fuel your body and mind with clarity, without overcomplicating things.

Equally important is recovery. Pete understands that sleep, stress management, and downtime are as critical as any workout. He puts as much emphasis on balance as he does on discipline, because he’s lived the consequences of getting that equation wrong.

Men’s health awareness runs through his work. Testosterone decline, muscle mass loss, creeping fat gain , all the things that too often get ignored until it’s too late , Pete addresses head-on. He encourages regular testing, proactive check-ups, and honest conversations about ageing. For him, longevity isn’t about squeezing out extra years at the end, but about staying strong, sharp, and capable at every stage of life.

To deliver the best results, Pete draws on a network of trusted professionals. He partners with a physiotherapist who has been head of medicine at several football clubs, ensuring injury prevention and rehabilitation are world-class. He also works with a chef who preps meals for elite athletes and executives, showing that eating for performance can be both practical and enjoyable. Together, they create a joined-up support system that mirrors the approach of professional sports teams.

Above all, Pete keeps it real. He cuts through the noise of the wellness industry , the fads, the myths, the fluff , and delivers advice that’s straightforward, evidence-based, and rooted in real life. His role isn’t to lecture or judge, but to give men the tools, accountability, and confidence to take control of their health.

Pete Kilford knows what it’s like to hit the wall. He also knows what it takes to come back stronger. Now he’s helping men just like you , blokes who’ve been all-in on career, family, and responsibility , to get their bodies back, clear their heads, and build a life that lasts.
